Ultrasound system GE Voluson 730 - probe connect error
January 26, 2017 09:58
I have some problems with Ultrosound System GE Voluson 730 (manufacted in 2002 year). All ports for probes didn't read a probe.(Cannot read a valid Probe-ID(00) frome middle probe connector (B)). I have already changed HDD and reinstalled software. I think the problem was caused by CPU 5.P5 board (CPU Probe board) or CPP Powersupply-secondaryboard. It didn't solve that problem. I didn't found +15V(instead of it there is +2,5V) during checking all the voltages. But there is -15V . Then i desided to find high voltage(+-90V) on the CPP Powersupply-secondaryboard, but i couldn't find it. Can i find this voltages when probes are not connected? or probes will be identified so it will help me to find this voltages?
Maybe someone knows how to solve this problem of repairing my Voluson 730. Thank you.

Hi, did you check the probes in another unit? is common the Identification Chip goes bad on the probes, be sure the probes are good, also most os the voltages at the probe connector Assy will be present only when the probes are connected and running, firstname.lastname@example.org

I connected all the probes( i have 3 kind of them) to all ports. And i always see the same error. Errors differ only in name of ports. I sure that probes work properly. How i can check CPU probe board? Maybe there is test for it?
So shouldn't I check all voltages while the probe will be connected correctly?

This may be due to new HDD and software.you have to entered the correct codes for your probes please.

It's immposible. Because i changed HDD and reinstalled software after there was an error. And i see this error even when i boot the system with old HDD and software.
Please, write me to email@example.com

Dear Nikolai have you find out about error :Cannot Read a valid Probe ID.
Thanks in advance

Which probes are you trying to connect to your Vol 730? Also which BT/SW version does it have?
I have 3 probes: transvaginal probe, abdominal probe and linear probe. Version of software is 1.07. As i understand it is the first version of software for Voluson 730.

i am also having this issue of cannot read valid probe id

I have the same problem
did you solve the problem?

Its the front board problem...remove the board and verify it

CPU5.P5 board is OK, I tested on another BT04 ( If front board is CPU5.p5)
1. I tried to reinstall on another HDD, the same again
2. The power supply is 100% working on other ge730 bt04
3. The system normally starts without any errors, with old and new hdd hdd
4. I checked cpu5.p5 board to another device 100% working,
5. When the system is loaded, in the end, without a single probe would have to hear the sound of the relay. but I did not hear. I think that's the problem.
I think missing voltage 12V to turn on relays and initialization probes
re: re: re: Ultrasound system GE Voluson 730 - probe connect error
how did you correct this issue ? because i am still having this issue, thanks

I did not solve the problem, I'm looking for a solution
Dear Simo you mean the Probe Selector Board as front Board;

was the problem at the CPP power suppl;y?
January 23, 2020 11:04
Yes CPP power supply was the problem.
Instead of 15V we get only 2,5 missing voltage 12V to turn on relays and initialization probes.
Alkmeon can repair CCP power supply.
