Philips MRI Software Update
February 21, 2020 10:26
Equipment deemed "End Of Life" Local FSE loaded Release 220.127.116.11 without giving the customer the option to opt out, which the customer could opt out of having it installed and the customer is no longer able to service their equipment/property. Philips can make this right by installing Release 18.104.22.168 or restoring the backup for Release 22.214.171.124. There are 3 or 4 FCO's (Software Updates) that will do the same thing, make servicing the customer equipment only Philips FSE available.

I would guess that you have the option of denying any Field Correction Orders that applies to your equipment with signature denying the FCO to be installed. Many times an FCO applies to other improvements within the system, but the customer to my knowledge is and has always been informed of applicable FCOs to their installed products. Regardless if the EOL is approaching on the product, if the device is under an existing service agreement with Philips, the product will e serviced to the term of the agreement. This should give the facility negotiating powers in equipment replacement with trade in of the product.
