RamSoft is integrating qliqSOFT's
messaging solution with its PowerServer
PACS and RIS/PACS solutions

Ramsoft partners with QliqSOFT

by John R. Fischer , Staff Reporter
RamSoft is partnering with QliqSOFT, as revealed last week at the 104th annual Radiological Society of North America Conference in Chicago.

The two are seeking to enhance communication between radiologists and referring physicians, staff, and technologists among other professionals by combining RamSOFT’s PowerServer PACS and RIS/PACS solutions with Qliq, a HIPAA/HITRUST compliant messaging system produced by QliqSOFT.

“We want to enhance our messaging capabilities for use on mobile devices. If a reading physician wants to get hold of the technologist, or staff, or their site administration, they can do so by using this application,” a spokesperson for RamSoft told HCB News. “In this day and age, everybody has a mobile, which makes it more convenient for users to be able to communicate. It just makes sense that they would want a solution that enables them to send information to one another without worrying about the security of their messages.”

A real-time HIPAA- and HITECH-compliant secure texting platform, Qliq enables users to securely text protected health information on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, as well as message information from desktops running on Windows or Mac. The solution also allows for the transmission of images, videos, audio files, PDFs, documents and spreadsheets among other files, with RamSoft planning to add other messaging media to it, such as secure email.

Fully integrated will be RamSoft’s zero-footprint viewer, RapidResults, which allows imaging practices to securely message anyone and provide direct hyperlinks to imaging studies and reports in their messages. In addition, recall text messaging will be available should clinicians message the wrong person or information.

Using Qliq may offer potential support in a variety of scenarios, such as the relaying of critical findings from a reading physician to a referring one. “We can make it in a way where it’s automated and sends a text automatically without going through all these clicks that we actively have to go through today,” said the spokesperson.

Along with its new collaboration, the PACS and RIS vendor kicked off the November event with the debut of three new apps designed to enhance patient experience and referring physicians satisfaction, and automate patient access to imaging.

They are openDoctor, designed to email, text or voice reminders and instructions to patients about imaging appointments; PocketHealth, a HIPAA-compliant image-sharing platform that enables clinicians to share DICOM images and reports electronically with patients rather than burning their results on to CDs; and AuthPal / Patient Access, an app developed in conjunction with Availity to automate authorization processes and optimize up-front collections.

Qliq is expected to be available to users beginning in early 2019.
