CHICAGO — In yet another indication of the rapid revolution in imaging delivery evident at RSNA, Change Healthcare made a second announcement last week to leverage its AI strategy with Zebra Medical Vision. The companies will collaborate to deliver AI solutions to complex radiology reporting environments.
“Change Healthcare is focusing on driving meaningful insights out of data, and AI is an integral part of providing this value to our customer,” Ashish Sant, senior vice president, and general manager, Radiology & Infrastructure, Change Healthcare told HCB News. “While we continue to evolve our products through internal capabilities, our strategy also covers partnering with others to leverage … imaging algorithms.
The news came after its announcement earlier in the RSNA week that it will also work with Google to develop an integrated viewing platform to spur more widespread physician-to-physician consultations.

"For artificial intelligence to be truly valuable, it must be integrated into radiologists' routine, daily read flow," said Ashish Sant, senior vice president, and general manager, Radiology & Infrastructure, Change Healthcare. "Pragmatic, artificial intelligence solutions such as the All in One (AI1) offering from Zebra Medical Vision are essential. We see a strategic fit (to) pursue solutions that optimize workflow and access to clinical data for our medical imaging customers.”
According to Sant, combining Change Healthcare Conserus Imaging Fellow platform with the findings from image data analysis through Google Cloud and Zebra Medical Vision solutions will empower radiologists with more useful contextual information for making a diagnosis. He added that while the company continues to evolve products through internal capabilities, their strategy also covers partnering with others.
As reported by HCB News, AI partnerships were one of the major trends at RSNA this year. Philips and GE Healthcare were among the big players who also announced partnerships with Nuance and NVIDIA. Google, long interested in the health care market, also had a booth for the first time at RSNA.
