The fixed fluoroscopy equipment segment is expected to surpass the C-arm segment and account for the majority of the market this year. Fixed systems are increasingly being used for cardiology, gastroenterology and urology diagnostic applications.

Cardiology is growing at the highest rate because of the rising elderly population, higher prevalence of cardiovascular diseases and the widespread use of fluoroscopic imaging for diagnosing and treating various cardiac conditions.

This fixed equipment segment is divided into remote-controlled fluoroscopy systems and conventional systems. In 2016, remote-controlled systems were the most in-demand.

North America is currently dominating the market, followed by Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. The rise in overuse sports injuries, cardiovascular diseases and hip and knee replacement surgeries is driving North America's market share.

Countries in the Asia Pacific region including China, Japan and India are expected to grow at the highest rate during the forecast period. Like other regions, this is due to the growing prevalence of cardiovascular diseases.

The major vendors in the market are Siemens AG, GE Healthcare, Koninklijke Philips N.V., Shimadzu Corporation, Ziehm Imaging GmbH, Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation, Hitachi Ltd., Carestream Health Inc., Hologic Inc., Lepu Medical Technology Co. Ltd., Agfa-Gevaert Group, and Adani Systems Inc.
