I have a problem that supose are both the gastro and colono videoendoscope units. The image is dark few inchs above the lens surface. I checked lamp life, iris (average), AGC on, fast shoot (off), lamp mode: automatic, monitor controls: middle bright and picture.
When I use the duodenoscope, the image is perfect. Indeed I asume the equipment is ok, just the accesories are bad (gastro and colono) but I had never tried open or repair one of these units. It look like the camera has lost sensibility because in auto position there is not change at illumination level when push the transillumination button. The fiber optic light guide is ok (no one fiber broken)and the intensity output is fullbright.
I know the CCD is on tip but dont know if there are any serviceable part inside the video endoscope unit.
The problem may be in the light guide lenses. If it has been repaired recently, sometimes people use inferior lens systems and it affects the light output. I've seen scopes with dark images using one processor and work fine on others. Your best bet is to have it evaluated by a professional who's not looking to rake you for big money.
I have copies of both the operating and service manuels for the cv-100 and we repair the scopes that go along with this processer. Call me at 253-572-7292, Larry Harwood
Dear Larry,

hi im miguel md gastroenterology from mexico i have some cv 100 processor how many for both operating and service manual. i have paypal. miguel6314@hotmail.com
It sounds like your processor is probably ok, its your scopes you should have evaluated. If you have more than one CV100 processor you should take one of the scopes that looks bad and try it on another processor to see if it looks any better. Usually if one scope looks good they all should but sometimes a certain type of scope could just pick up the problem easier than another type. The CV100 processor would be hard for you to service yourself because of the large number of boards the signal runs through. It is easiest to troubleshoot if you have spare boards to plug in to narrow down the problem and then troubleshoot the problem board(s). If you ever need your processor repaired or evaluated you can give me, Dave Till, a call at 1-800-229-7207.
Hi Dave. I am a GI surgeon in kenya . I too use a cv 100 video unit. Just last week I noticed the image goes from a completely sharp image to completely dark within a minute or so of use. My technician identified the processor as the problem and has asked me to get the following part
olympus UPME40U DV17890202
Please advise me . Would really appreciate your expertise as I am now currently unable to work if you think my man is on point. Thanks a lot. My email address is mungatanas@gmail.com
It's probably a scope problem. Possibly a light source problem. I'd say there's little chance it's a processor problem. If the image looks good when viewing a well lit room, the problem definatley isn't in the processor. The only way to know for sure is to have the scope(s) evaluated. It could be a variety of different issues that only a trained repair technician can determine upon initial inspection of the instrument. If your in need of an evaluation, e-mail me: endorepair@comcast.net
I read the e-mail you sent me. I was unable to reply because your server has my e-mail registered as a source of spam and is rejecting my e-mail. Can you send me a different e-mail address so I may reply to you.

We don't have a service manual but we are very proficient at repairing these units. Is there anything specific you have a question about?
