Medical Centre for elderly and Orphanage opening in Estonia

Dear friends,

We turn to you not only on behalf of our community, but also on behalf of the most defenseless groups of our society - pensioners, invalids, homeless children, children from unhappy families.
Unfortunately, our small state - Estonia cannot ensure the social protection for them in sufficient level. Besides with the extremely low level of the wages of our major part of population - working families ($200 - $400 p/month)), the dimension of money grant for the seniors is $50 - $150US p/month (in the conversion from local currency), and grant to the children - $10US p/month! Beside of that the prices of the goods and services are approaching to West -European!!! Average cost of apartment rent is $50US - $100US p/month! For the visit to doctor, the patient has to pay from his pocket because of Medical insurance that can not cover the whole price of visit! People, irrespective of age must pay from $50US to $100US for the visit to dentist. These visits are uncovered by Insurance. The cost of drugs is incommensurable with the extremely low incomes.

One of the commandments of Torah in Judaism says: "Treat to your neighbor in the manner that you want to get the treatment of somebody to you". One of the basic commandments of Bible in Christians tells: Love ones neighbor as yourself". As you can see, the religions are different, but it has the same sense of commandments.
We cannot be indifferent to the strange misfortunes. It is difficult to describe the feeling, when the old lady in the Grocery asks to feed by it money to buy a bread.
We are not blaming our country, it is too young, and it is too difficult to become a rich developed country in such a short period. And our moral imperative is to help to our Estonia in that complicated situation.
So, we decided to make our small contribution to the solution of this problem of our country, Our congregation decided to come forward by the initiator of the opening the Medical Center on the servicing of elderly and moderate-means part of our society, and also Shelter for the homeless children and for the children from unhappy families. We are planning to open these charitable institutions with the support of the religious and charitable organizations of Estonia and foreign. We have qualified medical and pedagogical personnel in the membership of our community, but we do not have sufficiently means for realizing of these projects.

Several words about us: We are Jewish Reformist Congregation of Estonia.
We are officially registered in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Estonian Republic; we have status of Synagogue and enter into the Union of the Churches of Estonia from March 1994. We have around 500 members in our Congregation.

We are asking you to render us any possible assistance for the accomplishment of our tasks. It could be second-hand medical equipment, drugs, money donations, etc.

Our common Main Task of our lives - improvement the World and returning of people to the God! We have the only One God for all of us!

God Bless You!
