e-MD releases latest version
of the e-MDs Solution
Series(TM) suite
of software applications
e-MDs, an industry leader in the development and implementation of electronic health record (EHR) and practical management solutions, announced the release of the latest version of the e-MDs Solution Series(TM) suite of software applications.

Dr. Michael Stearns, President and CEO of e-MDs told DOTmed, "e-MDs is constantly working to improve the Solution SeriesTM to adapt and meet the greatest needs of our clients and physicians across the country. These are pivotal times for health care technology and our company is dedicated to keeping pace with emerging requirements, such as certification that supports meaningful use and specialty specific needs."

Solution Series 6.3.0 is a CCHIT 2008 Certified(r) Ambulatory EHR, and is one of few EHRs with additional certification for both Child Health and Cardiovascular Medicine.

The 6.3.0 enhancements include:
FDB Drug Database - The incorporation of First DataBank's Drug Database solution will enhance prescription and drug information, offer formulary prompts and provide context-relevant drug information at the point of care. FBD is the leading provider of integrated drug data and drug reference solutions.

Surescripts e-Prescribing Enhancements - This additional integration provides the ability to download a comprehensive list of all of a patient's past and present prescriptions, as well as the ability to electronically prescribe mail order prescriptions.

Surescripts Formularies - The system immediately reports drug formulary information such as costs, coverage, and alternative therapies for patients, based upon formulary benefits eligibility checking. Formulary functionality also provides co-pay amounts, prior authorization status, quantity limits and gender restrictions.

CCD - 6.3.0 supports Continuity of Care Documents (CCD), in addition to Continuity of Care Records (CCR). This enhances the ability to transfer and share relevant and reportable clinical information between providers, regardless of the care setting with any CCD-compliant health information system.

Dose Calculator - This upgrade automatically suggests drug SIG codes by calculating minimum and maximum doses based on a patient's weight and diagnosis.

Drug Duplicates & Interactions - This ePrescribing feature seamlessly eliminates duplicate refill requests to pharmacies, and offers helpful pop-up alerts when a prescription conflicts with a patient's current problem list.

Improvements, based on customer feedback, to last year's upgrades include the OB Module(r), Practice management reporting, billing, posting, and many additional enhancements to e-MDs Solution Series suite.
