Conference & Expo
The Seventh Annual Materials and Processes for Medical Devices (MPMD) Conference and Exposition is coming to Minneapolis, August 10-12.

Expected to attend MPMD are materials scientists, engineers, metallurgists, product designers, researchers and clinicians. The conference is designed to appeal to academics as well as industrial and federal researchers.

"The event continues its tradition of presenting the state-of-the-art in biomaterials science and engineering for medical devices used to repair, replace and regenerate tissues and structures of the human body," said the event's program chair Jeremy L. Gilbert, PhD, Syracuse University.

Plenary Speakers include David Wayne Polly, Jr. MD, who will speak on spinal implants; Sri Sridhar, PhD, who will address nanotechnology platforms; and Robert S. Schwartz, MD, who will talk about biocompatibility of intravascular devices. More details and information on academic association of each speaker can be found in the event program online.

Diverse programs are available to participants:
*Bioactive/Biomimetric Surface & Drug Delivery Systems/Surface Engineering of Medical Devices
*Biostability and Biocompatibility of Medical Devices
*Corrosion, Fatigue and Durability of Medical Devices
*Effect of Materials on Treatment & Surgical Techniques
*Fabrication Processes for Medical Devices
*Materials Modeling
*Materials R&D
*Materials R&D/Fabrication
