CHRISTUS Health
will outsource Clinical Engineering
to CREST Services
CREST Services, a national leader in medical equipment maintenance, asset management and parts procurement, and CHRISTUS Health, announced the signing of a 10-year outsourcing agreement effective July 1, 2009. Included in this agreement is the transition of all Clinical Engineering services, employees, and assets.

"While CHRISTUS Clinical Engineering (CE) performs at a level of efficiency equal to or greater than some other in-house service organizations, significant time and reflection has gone into the process of evaluating future service options," said Thomas C. Royer, MD, President and CEO. "Therefore, after much deliberation we have validated that CE services can be provided at a significantly lower cost by outsourcing them to an organization exclusively devoted to medical equipment services."

"We are excited about the opportunity to work with CREST and believe that we have set both the right strategic and tactical directions as we move CHRISTUS Health to being the lowest cost and highest quality healthcare service provider," said George Conklin, CHRISTUS Health Senior Vice President and CIO.

"As employees of CREST, each person will realize significant opportunities for career development and advancement into technical service specialty areas and management responsibilities," explained Brian Montgomery, CREST President/CEO. "In addition, opportunities will be provided for relocation to other markets serviced by CREST."

Montgomery further stated, "This agreement represents the extreme pride, professionalism and contribution of each CREST team member. This is the foundation of our company."
