Through its acquisition of Titanium Medical Imaging, parts supplier DirectMed Imaging can now offer components for Canon/Toshiba scanners, making it an inventory source for parts from all four leading imaging OEMs.

Based in Houston, Titanium Medical provides parts, full-service contracting, preventive maintenance, installation, deinstallation, transport, and warehousing for MR, CT, and X-ray equipment designed by the Japanese manufacturer. The company, which has been operating for over 14 years, is the only third-party supplier that provides both MR and CT parts, full systems with installations, and comprehensive service for Canon/Toshiba diagnostic imaging equipment for hospitals, emergency care units, and radiology clinics.

The deal is DirectMed Imaging's fifth acquisition in over four years and will also provide it with expertise for training biomedical engineers in medical settings on Canon/Toshiba devices.

"DirectMed’s primary customer base is the ISOs, OEM multivendor groups, and integrated delivery networks, all of which have Canon/Toshiba imaging equipment and need our help in supplying quality parts and technical support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Acquiring Titanium Medical filled our void in being able to provide both and at the same time will allow our customers to consolidate their vendor base," DirectMed Imaging CEO Brad de Konig told HCB News.

DirectMed Imaging has over 100,000 GE HealthCare, Siemens Healthineers, Philips, and Canon/Toshiba parts in stock that it repairs and sells to healthcare networks, imaging centers, and independent service organizations worldwide. Along with meeting U.S. demands, the addition of Titanium Medical will be especially helpful for its Latin American customers where Canon/Toshiba have a better install base.

The work we do keeps critical systems up and running, and now we have the ability to greatly expand our reach and impact,” said Titanium Medical founder Michael Feezor in a statement.

Last month, Technical Prospects, a Wisconsin supplier of parts and coverage for CT, MR, cath-angio, C-arms, general X-ray, ultrasound, and mammography scanners designed by Siemens Healthineers, adopted the DirectMed Imaging name after being acquired by it in the Summer 2023.

Its other subsidiaries include LBN Medical ApS, a Danish reseller of aftermarket medical imaging equipment and parts, and Nebraska’s ScanMed, which designs and repairs MR coils for GE Healthcare, Siemens, Philips, and Canon/Toshiba systems.

Titanium Medical employees are now employed by DirectMed Imaging where they will have opportunities for career growth.
