Corindus, A Siemens Healthineers company and maker of the CorPath GRX system (pictured here), is rebranding.
Corindus, a Siemens Healthineers company, has been rebranded as Siemens Healthineers Endovascular Robotics, a dedicated business within the company’s Advanced Therapies area.
Acquired in 2019 by Siemens Healthineers for $1.1 billion, Corindus designs vascular robotics technology, including the CorPath GRX System to support endovascular procedures. The platform is the first FDA-cleared medical device to bring robotic precision to percutaneous coronary and vascular procedures.
The Endovascular Robotics business will target emergent conditions, advance interventions with image-guided robotics, and produce innovations for enhancing physician technique and making interventional procedures more precise.
"The CorPath GRX System brings robotic precision to endovascular interventions. We will continue to work toward our vision to revolutionize treatment of emergent conditions by developing technologies to provide specialized and timely access to care to more patients around the world," Wayne Markowitz, executive vice president of Siemens Healthineers and head of endovascular robotics, told HCB News.
A second-generation, robotic-assisted platform, the CorPath GRX System supports percutaneous coronary, peripheral, and neurovascular interventions. It also helps reduce radiation exposure.
As part of the transition, Corindus’ channels, including the company website and social media profiles, officially shut down on December 16. All materials previously shared through the Corindus website can be accessed on the Siemens Healthineers website in the endovascular robotics sections.
“Our flagship product, the CorPath GRX System, is designed to support endovascular interventions, and we look forward to working with our customers as Siemens Healthineers Endovascular Robotics, while fueling our vision to connect more patients to advanced care,” said Markowitz.
A year following its acquisition by Siemens Healthineers, Corindus
unveiled a new set of automated robotic movements in the technIQ Series for its CorPath GRX System to replicate manual techniques of highly skilled interventionalists.
Earlier this year, it
opened its 77,000-square-foot headquarters in Newton, Massachusetts to act as a global Center of Excellence for Siemens Healthineers’ endovascular robotic technologies and facilitate manufacturing, development and administrative needs.
