Fair Asia 2010
The Asia-Pacific health care market has experienced solid growth over the past decade. According to global trade show planners Messe Dusseldorf North America, this healthcare market is projected to grow from US$246 billion in 2009 to US$348 billion in 2012, accounting for almost 27 percent of the global market. By 2015, Asia-Pacific's health care revenues could represent 40 percent of the global market.

The hot sectors are medical devices, where revenue is estimated to increase from US$46.5 billion in 2009 to US$62.3 billion in 2012. Demand growth is partly a result of the aging population and the convergence of devices and pharma products. Lab automation, home care monitoring and emphasis on early detection are also driving clinical diagnostic demands. In terms of revenue, an increase is projected from US$6.9 billion in 2009 to US$8.5 billion in 2012.

The growing demand for more sophisticated health care devices and services presents tremendous opportunities for companies to introduce their latest innovations to the Asia-Pacific market. MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2010, 8th International Exhibition on Hospital, Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical, Medical & Rehabilitation Equipment & Supplies, will provide the ideal platform for these companies. Held September 15-17 in Singapore, it is the largest event for the medical and health care industry in Southeast Asia and is organized by Messe Dusseldorf Asia, sponsored by Singapore's Ministry of Health and supported by numerous associations such as the Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI), the Hospital, Medical, Laboratory Equipment & Supplies Importers Association of the Philippines (HOMLESIAP) and the Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong.

At MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2010, some 400 companies (including 10 country pavilions) from over 30 nations will showcase the latest medical equipment, solutions and services to an expected 8,000 trade visitors from the region and beyond.

Visitors up at HOSPITALAR 2010 in Brazil

A total of 89,000 visits were recorded at the recent staging of HOSPITALAR 2010, 17th International Trade Fair, also organized by Messe Dusseldorf North America. International visits increased by 22 percent this year. The event was held in five halls of the Expo Center Norte, Sao Paulo, May 25, 2010 - May 28, 2010. All told, 1,250 exhibitors from 36 countries showcased state-of-the-art products, equipment and services for the health care industry. A total of 505 of the exhibitors at HOSPITALR 2010 were from outside of Brazil and 25 of the 42 U.S. exhibitors showcased their products within the successful U.S. Pavilion.

Exhibitors praised the 2010 event as "the best of the last few years" and the visitors as "extremely professional and representative of the entire healthcare value chain." With the high quality of the visitors, the exhibiting companies reported growth in the volume of immediate business and post-show deals with hospitals, clinics and laboratories from all over Brazil and abroad (about Real 5.3 billion, an increase of 10% over the 2009 results).
