The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has released the latest figures on the employment situation in the U.S. As has been the trend in the past reports, the employment outlook in the health care industry has continued to increase in March (27,000). The largest gains were in ambulatory health care services (16,000) and in nursing and residential care facilities (9,000).

In addition, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis recently that she is determined to help low-wage and vulnerable workers in the U.S, and that the Department of Labor (DOL) "will not waiver" in protecting rights guaranteed by law to American workers. This is part of the DOL's We Can Help campaign to help low-wage workers understand the services offered by the DOL. The statement concerning the We Can help campaign has special focus on certain industries, including home health care, and addresses rights in the workplace and filing complaints with the Wage and Hour Division.
