Five Minutes in Healthcare is where I discuss current events with some of the industry's most influential leaders, as well as innovative thinkers who are working to meet the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

Over the last week I have had the pleasure of speaking to Dr. Greg Albers and Jennifer Jordan.

In the following installment, I check in with Dr. Greg Albers, a cofounder of RapidAI and a physician with the Stanford Stroke Center, about how his company is allowing for better stroke outcomes. Thanks in part to the work he has done, we now know that many more patients are candidates for treatment than previously realized.

In the following installment, I check in with Jennifer Jordan, director of mom and baby at Aeroflow Healthcare, to discuss ways that Medicaid may not be supporting women to the extent that is should. Many health plans adopted women's preventative benefits under the ACA but access is not always available under Medicaid due to limited coverage in certain states. Not only does this mean expectant mothers may not get the care they need, but it can also mean inferior outcomes and increased spending.
