POLL: Will the coronavirus curtail your trade show attendance?

We're about to enter trade show season.

The European Society of Radiology is preparing to come together in Vienna for the annual ECR Congress. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) meeting is coming up in Florida. In fact, there are a whole host of shows coming up.

It means traveling on public transportation to and from the airport. It means hanging out in the airport. Being in an airplane and attending a trade show where you're shaking hands with people by the hundreds who may or may not be infected and not even know it.

I've attended shows for decades. I was planning to attend ECR in Vienna, which I think will be my 18th visit, but I'm actually having second thoughts.

A colleague of mine pointed out that more people die of the flu than have died from the coronavirus— and that's probably true. Still, I arrange for a flu shot in the fall and I'm ashamed to say I'm not sure what the treatment plan is for the coronavirus.

It seems to me that the fewer people we come in contact with, the better.

Also, those people who sneeze and don't cover their mouth, they really deserve a kick in the backside.

Take our unofficial poll below and let us know if the coronavirus is going to cause you to change your travel habits for business.
