MWA will take place April 27 to the 29 in Houston. DOTmed will be sending a journalist to the show again this year. Our journalist, Gus Iversen, will report from the show to get the latest news for our readers. Gus also attended MEDICA, the show presented by Messe Düsseldorf – which I believe is the largest medical tradeshow on earth – so he has some familiarity with what the show will offer.

Messe Dusselfdorf is the presenter of MWA, teaming with the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and Texas Medical Center. They are using the same strategy in the U.S. as they used with MEDICA. This is a company that has staying power and know-how to build a successful show around an impressive program.

With so many shows concentrating on specific modalities, MWA is adopting a one-stop shop approach which has proven to be very convenient for the buyers from around the world that visit MEDICA. No doubt, it is easier for health care professionals from the major markets in North and South America to travel to Houston than to Germany.

Over time, I believe this show will continue to grow and become a must-attend event. In the upcoming issue of HealthCare Business News, we have an interview with Robert Robbins, CEO of the Texas Medical Center and chair of the Medical World America’s executive advisory committee to get the latest updates about the show.
