A lensometer is a piece of equipment used to measure the optical power of eyeglass lenses. It is used to measure the power of lenses in diopters, the optical power of a lens in diopters, the optical center of a lens, the prismatic effect of a lens, and the back vertex power of a lens. The lensometer is a necessary tool for optometrists and ophthalmologists to accurately measure and adjust eyeglass lenses.
